On the Subject of Albuquerque
Well, to cut a long story short, he got away with my snorkel. But I made a solemn vow right then and there that I would not rest — I would not sleep for an instant — until the one-nostrilled man was brought to justice.
But first, I decided to buy some donuts.
Miracle Machine and Donut Guy are trapped in a time loop, and the module will solve once they both escape. To solve the module, identify all of the temporal anomalies, and press the red button on the bottom-right of the TV to give Miracle Machine or Donut guy timed nudges.
Select the TV to play one iteration of the loop. Miracle Machine will drive to Donut Guy's donut shop, and they will have a back-and-forth conversation, listing donut names. Below is an example.
- “You got any cinnamon rolls?”
- “No, we're outta glazed donuts.”
- “You got any glazed donuts?”
- “No, we're outta bear claws.”
- “You got any Bavarian cream-filled donuts?”
- “No, we're outta bear claws.”
Miracle Machine and Donut Guy will mention three donut names each. Convert each of these donut types into a number from 0-5:
Glazed donuts | 0 | Jelly donuts | 1 | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Bavarian cream- filled donuts |
2 | Cinnamon rolls | 3 | |
Apple fritters | 4 | Bear claws | 5 |
Group each “You got any… / No, we're outta…” into a pair — name these three pairs A, B and C. This manual will refer to the “You got any…”s as the Ys, and the “No, we're outta…”s as the Ns.
For each Y and N in A, B and C, find its corresponding edgework calculation in the table on the next page, and add the result to its donut value. If any of the Ys and Ns are now above 5, subtract 6 from them until they're between 0 and 5.
