On the Subject of the Ball Dial

Just how many sides does this ball have?

You must use the buttons to spin the ball until it displays a digit in the serial number, then press .
When a button is pressed, the ball will spin toward it, and a new set of display elements will appear.
Use the table to determine the next direction to spin the ball,
based on the elements in the current display and the previous direction the ball was spun.
When the ball displays a number,
press the next button that many times, ignoring all displays in between.
A zero may be treated as a one for these presses.
When the ball displays an arrow,
treat the direction the arrow is pointed as oriented UP.
(spinning the ball away from the direction the arrow is pointed always counts as
spinning it down, and then Previous Input Direction will then be 'DOWN')
When the ball displays a word,
use that word instead of the Previous Input Direction in the table below.
Begin by spinning the ball UP.
