For Radars:

• Take the first letter and first digit in the serial number. Modulo 5 until they are between A–E and 1–5. This is your first location.
• Repeat for the second and third letters and digits until you run out of either of them. These are your second and third locations.
• Take the number of ports, then add or subtract 5 until it is between A–E. Add the number of indicators and batteries together, then add or subtract 5 until it is between 1–5. This is your final location.

Ships can not be directly adjacent or diagonal from other ships.
