  1. Take the first letter of the serial number and convert it to its alphabetical position (A=1, B=2, C=3).
  2. Add the last digit of the serial number.
  3. Subtract the value retrieved from the table to the right.
  4. Take the last digit of the absolute value, then add one. This is result D.

Use the Dth ship from the below table using the following order:

  • If there are more Lit indicators than Unlit, use Reading order*.
  • If there are more Unlit indicators than Lit, use Braille Reading order**.
  • If the amount of Lit indicators equal Unlit, use Chinese Reading order***.

The seconds digits add up to the first digit of the serial number. The seconds part of the timer contains only 0s and/or 1s.

The last digit of timer is equal to the digital root of all the digits in the serial number.
