The module begins at a random position within the excerpt and iterates through all 1424 characters, omitting all spaces and punctuation, with no sign of when it wraps around. Before being displayed, the characters are enciphered with a consistent but random substitution cipher with no overlaps, e.g. A becomes E, B becomes K, and so on.

For convenience when the module starts late in the excerpt, the beginning 200+ characters have been copied and appended directly after the end.

The number at the bottom begins at “1” on the starting character, and that number increases by 1 each time the display goes forward a character.

To solve the module, use the knowledge that each occurrence of any given enciphered letter always refers to the same letter in the plaintext to decrypt a phrase, then use the position of that phrase to submit the plaintext letter from when the number at the bottom showed “1”.
