Confusing the Subject of Lying Buttons
I doubt six stars is not the true difficulty of this dungeon...
This dark-gray module consists of a 3×3 grid of buttons with clues displayed in the middle of the button. To disarm the module, press all buttons that are safe.
The hinges on the module denote how many unsafe buttons are present on the module, in addition of a presence/absence of a confused button:
- Top-Left: Exactly 1 button is not safe to press.
- Top-Right: Exactly 2 buttons are not safe to press.
- Bottom-Left: There are no confused buttons.
- Bottom-Right: There is a confused button. This hinge is always present.
The bottom hinges are colored differently from the top hinges denoting the presence of a confused button.
If both top hinges are present, the solution can have either 1 or 2 unsafe buttons.
Likewise, if both bottom hinges are present, the solution may or may not contain a confused button.
The clues displayed on the module can be decrypted by the table on the next page.
If a button pressed is not safe, the module will strike and generate a new puzzle.
The rules for this module are the same as Lying Buttons, where a safe button always tells the truth and an unsafe button lies, however a confused button may be thrown into the mix. Confused buttons are safe, but their clues lie. The table provided shows all possible options of buttons that can show up.
| Safe | Unsafe | |
