On the Subject of Graduation

Can't learn bomb defusal without attending college first!

Please read the full manual before attempting to solve the module.

This module initially consists of two large displays, followed by 3 buttons with labels below. The first display will generate a random college major, and the 3 labeled buttons which will each generate a random college course.

The second display contains a selection of college minors, which can be cycled through using the left and right arrow buttons on both sides of the display.

Step 1:

To find your college minor, add together the number of batteries and indicators, then multiply the sum by the last digit of the bomb's serial number. If you are outside of the 0-9 range in the below illustration, modulo 10 until you are within the range the chart provides. This is your MC (Minor Course) Number.

The MC Number that you end on is linked to the specific college minor you have. Cycle to the correct minor using the left and right arrow buttons before proceeding to Step 2.

MC Number College Minor
0 Forensics
1 Aerospace Engineering
2 Public Health
3 Computer Science
4 Sociology
5 Creative Writing
6 French
7 Communications
8 Business
9 International Relations

Step 2:

A comprehensive chart of college majors, along with the 3 college courses that are directly associated with each major, is shown below.

Among the three options you are given, you must click the button with the college course that is associated with the major that you have been assigned.

  • Selecting the incorrect course will result in a strike.
  • Selecting the correct course with the incorrect college minor will result in a strike.

By selecting the correct course, the module will move to the next stage, where you must repeat the actions. There are three (3) total stages, all of which must be completed at a certain point (explained in Additional Notes).

Additional Notes

It is important to note that:

  • Your college major will not change.
  • Your college minor will not change.

When you select the correct course, it will not be repeated. However, courses that are unrelated to your college major may.

Different stages of the module must be completed at specific points in time. When you complete each stage is dependent on how many non-ignored modules you have solved on the bomb:

  • Stage 1 must be completed as soon as you have completed at least 25% of non-ignored modules, and before solving another module.
  • Stages 2 and 3 are a repeat of the above, but with 50% and 75% respectively.
  • Attempting to complete a stage before the appropriate point will result in a strike.
  • Completing another module without finishing a stage at the appropriate point will trigger an alarm, and require you to complete an EC (Extra Credit).

Round down when applicable. Example: 25% of 46 non-ignored modules
= 11.5, round down to 11
= proceed when exactly 11 non-ignored modules have been solved.

Extra Credit (Stage 1)

In the event you fail to complete stage 1 at the 25% threshold, the module will change to display a 1x3 grid of randomly colored, interactable buttons. In order to complete the EC, you must press the proper colors in order. The illustrations below gives each possible scenario and the order you must press each button in.

After completing the EC, the module will move on to stage 2.

Extra Credit (Stage 2)

In the event you fail to complete stage 2 at the 50% threshold, the module will change to display a 2x2 grid of randomly colored, interactable buttons. In order to complete the EC, you must press the proper colors in order. The illustrations below give each possible scenario and the order you must press each button in.

After completing the EC, the module will move on to stage 3.

Extra Credit (Stage 3)

In the event you fail to complete stage 3 at the 75% threshold, the module will change to display a coordiante plane, spanning from (-10, -10) to (10, 10). A random shape will be placed in one of the four quadrants of the coordiante plane.

In order to complete the EC, find your Key # using the table below, then select it via the arrow buttons and click on the display to submit.
