On the Subject of Mind Plate

On the Plate is a representation of a Constellation.

The module consists of an invisible 3x3x3 Rubik’s Cube with some face cells being Voided and others containing Stars.
Your goal is to move around on the surface of that scrambled Rubik’s Cube and submit all Stars to restore the Constellation.

Use the buttons on the sides of the plate to move around the Rubik’s Cube, and the center one to submit the Star on your current location.

Find in Appendix ANISTAR your Constellation and how it fits on the net representing your Rubik’s Cube.
That net will also give you the location of the Voided Cells.

Gather the number of Batteries, Indicators, and Ports (only keep the least significant digit), and all Serial Number digits.
Using those digits in order, scramble the Rubik’s Cube using the methods described in Table PSI.

You start on cell III-B2, the center of face III, facing up, after scrambling.

When moving, the up, down, left and right buttons work as expected.
Leaving a face transports you to the cell directly adjacent on the face found in that direction.
The Rubik’s Cube performs a single 90° turn to see the new face from above.
The movement buttons now work as expected relative to that new face’s orientation. Movement Buttons do not rotate you if you do not change faces.

Example 1: Moving leftwards four faces brings you back to the starting face without any visible rotation.
Example 2: Moving one face leftwards, one face upwards and one face rightwards bring you to your starting face, but your current “up” direction is your original “right”, to the right when looking at the Net.
Example 3: Moving two faces leftwards then two faces upwards bring you back to your starting face, which is now upside-down.

All Stars must be submitted to solve this module, in any order.
Submitting a cell that does not contain a Star, or a cell that contains a Star that already has been submitted will not result in a Strike, but will shake the Plate. This module cannot Strike.

You can press the MIND text on the module’s casing to reset to your starting location and orientation, and re-place all collected Stars.

Appendix ANISTAR:

Coordinates are used by naming faces in reading order I through VI, and then using regular coordinates A1-to-C3 for each individual face.

Example: Stars in the first net have coordinates I-C2, II-C2, II-B3, III-B2, IV-C1, IV-B3 and V-B2.

The dotted lines in-between stars only serve for Constellation recognition and do not affect the solving process.

On the Subject of scrambling the Rubik’s Cube:

Table PSI contains the order of Moves to do to scramble the Rubik's Cube.
On your net, the coloured face is referred to as the “Front” face, and is shown face-on. The other faces are referred to as “Back”, “Up”, “Down”, “Left” and “Right”.

The scramble Moves work similarly to the Rubik’s Cube module:
A scramble Move of D rotates the Down face clockwise (when looking at that side face-on). A Move of D’ rotates it counter-clockwise.

Shared Appendix V O I D:

Voided cells are considered to not exist anymore. Cells aligned on either sides are considered adjacent and at a distance of 1. This includes diagonals.

You can move from one side of a Voided cell to another in a single movement. You cannot stop a movement onto a Voided cell.

Neighbors of a Voided Cell are the cells directly adjacent to it (unless one of them is a Voided cell, in which case the neighbors are of course one cell further).
