On the Subject of Twodokus

Literally two sudokus.

The 6×6 grid on the module contains some digits and some geometric shapes. These form two separate 6×6 sudokus, one using the digits 1–6 and one using 6 distinct geometric shapes.

One of the two sudokus will have “wide” regions, the other “tall” regions as shown in the diagrams.

Once solved, focus on the cells that are highlighted in green. For each of those cells, in reading order, look up the name of the geometric shape in the below table and use the digit to index into that name (e.g. the digit 1 resolves to the first letter). If the word is too short, pretend that it is repeated (e.g. KITEKITE).

Enter the resulting solution word using the buttons on the right of the module by selecting the appropriate sections of the alphabet and individual letters.

Interactive Controls

  • In Read mode:
    • Select a cell and use the shape, digit, and green highlight tools to fill in the puzzle grid. Type G to toggle highights on the selected cell. Type Space/Enter to skip a cell. Type 1 - 6 to place a digit. Type 0 to blank out a cell.
    • Shapes can only be placed in the top grid and digits in the bottom grid.
  • In Solve mode:
    • The cells from the inital read are locked.
    • Select a shape or digit tool and click a cell to place that glyph.
    • The Reset buttons (↻) will clear the grids back to the intial read.
    • Type 1 - 6 to select a digit tool. Type 0 to select the blank tool
  • In Generated mode:
    • Press the Manual button to switch to Generated mode.
    • Have fun solving the generated puzzle!
  • Click Swap Grids to swap the region maps between the grids.
  • The Solution button will show your entered results or the solution to the generated puzzle.
  • The Save button creates a new save state.
  • The sound effects can be muted.
  • The Reset Saves button clears all the saved states.
  • The Reset All button resets the entire interactive.
