Three solids are revealed in the square window of a scanner, which only shows a cross section of each solid at a time.
Each scan can progress in any orientation.

All solids can be found in the smaller of the two grids below.
Each has an offset from the centre of the smaller grid.
These offsets are used to generate three pairs of digits to be enter into the module:

  1. Assign the primary offset to any of the three solids.
  2. Consider the first two numeric digits of the serial number:
    • If the first is larger than the second, assign the secondary offset to the solid scanned immediately before the primary offset solid.
    • Otherwise assign the secondary offset to the solid scanned immediately after the primary offset solid.
  3. Apply the primary offset from the center of the larger cube to obtain the first digit.
  4. Apply the secondary offset from the position reached by the primary offset to obtain the second digit.
  5. Enter the pair of digits into the module and repeat the two steps above with these changes to obtain the other two pairs to enter in the right order:
    • Replace the primary offset with the secondary offset.
    • Replace the secondary offset with the unused offset.
